FRIENDLY FRIDAY

I have been working on making bags with the new Gift Bag Punch Board that will be available next Tuesday, June 2.  I will be deomoing at our Joyful Hearts Team meeting next Saturday and I needed to play and get some samples.  I will  show off some of them next week and tell you how to make the bags.

Father's Day will be here soon so here is a card that would certainly work for the man in your life.

Sorry, it looks a little washed out.  The stamp set used here is Guy Greetings and will NOT be retiring from the new catalog.  The Flashback DSP will be retiring however.  There are some really "manly" images in this set.

I should have made a sea creature card as I get ready for my sorority's seafood feast on Saturday.  It was cancelled from a February snowstorm.  Can't wait to eat all the goodies.

Hope you have a wonderful and blessed weekend.

WOW WEDNESDAY

I saw a similar card on Pinterest and thought I would try one of my own.  It is very quick and easy and turns out to be very lovely.

On the top layer of the card, I punched the square out about 3 times.  I just slid my punch in as far as it would go and punched so that the hole would be centered from the top and bottom. I turned the piece over and scored two lines all around the hole using my Simply Scored Tool/

Stamp the image you want onto the base of your card where your window will be.  Cover the area with Versa Mark and then Iridescent Ice and heat with your heat gun.

I used the retiring (OH DARN!) Painted Petals Stamp Set (Occasions Catalog) and the SAB cotton twine.

Try this with any stamp set of your choice and see what you come up with.

Don't forget to guess the weight of the box that held my pre-order of new goodies by making a comment below. The picture of what was in the box was posted last Friday, May 22nd.  You have until May 31st.  The guess that is closest to the box weight receives a prize from me.

TECHNIQUE TUESDAY

Not really a technique today, just a share.  This is a card that the group of Presbyterian Women made last week for Sweet Grace Ministries.  This is an organization that supports families who have endured infant loss.  The group was started by a young mother who lost their first child.  This group and their efforts are always in need of prayers as the organization continues to grow outside of the Chambersburg area.  What a wonderful blessing it has been and continues to be for those who have been affected.

The symbol of the org is the butterfly.  These cards are sent to families on the anniversary of the infant loss to let them know they have not been forgotten.
The card uses some retiring In-Colors and DSP.  The Postage Stamp Punch is also retiring and the Scallop Square Punch was retired previously.

FRIENDLY FRIDAY

Yay!  I'm finally back.  Computer is fixed and overhauled.  Hated to spend the extra money, but I'm at their mercy, because I can't figure it all out myself.

I have a great picture to share with you today!  I have some new goodies to play with from the new annual catalog that goes live on June 2.  As a demonstrator, I can pre-order some items and, of course, it is impossible to wait.  So here is what came by way of UPS on Monday:

New In-Colors, card stock, DSP, punches, stamp sets, Punch Board, Embossing Folder, and of course, THE CATALOG. I love looking at and playing with all of the new stuff.

You can have a catalog too, just by leaving a comment below.  Also, if you leave a guess in the comment section below of how much you think all of this weighed, you will be entered into the contest to receive a prize from me if you come closest to the correct weight.  If you are a regular customer, I have your catalog now.  On June 2 only, you will be able to order items from the old catalog that are still available and items from the new catalog on the same order.  So if there is something old and new that you would like, that is the day to place your order.  The new catalog ordering only will begin on June 3rd.

Come back on Monday for some updates and new posts.  Have a good Memorial Day weekend, and, don't forget to remember all of those who have served to keep us free.  God Bless them all.

TECHNIQUE TUESDAY

Here is today's quick post.

This is an easy technique to make a different effect.  Stamp your image (here we stamped the flower from the Gifts of Kindness Stamp Set).  Then cut your large piece into several pieces and adhere to a background piece.  The Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder will be retiring at the end of May.

MISCELLANEOUS MONDAY

Well, I am going to be gone for a week and wanted to pre-post and at least show you a card each day, but my computer is doing weird things and I can't get all my pictures sized correctly. SOOO, I will do what I can.  I know I have 3 that are correct so we are good for Monday, Tuesday and Wed.  If there is nothing on Thursday or Friday, you know I didn't get it figured out.  Here is today's:

Some of these things are already retired and some will be retiring at the end of the month.

FRIENDLY FRIDAY

Here is one of the cards on display at our Proverbial Stampers Team Meeting.  Not sure who created it.  Sorry.

Retiring Stamp Set Walk in the Wild (pg 121) is used for this nice masculine card.  The background is Block H, inked on a pad and then stamped to the paper.  Thanks to the creator.

Don't forget that you can still order from the Retiring List.

Hope you have a great weekend.  Weather is to be great in my neck of the woods.

Also, Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers, and all others who love like mothers do.

WOW WEDNESDAY

This is a basket I am providing as a raffle prize for our local hospital's fund raising golf tournament.

Included in the basket is a box containing 6 cards, a small gift bag, a stamped candle, a note holder made with a tile, and a mini-cup holder containing Rolos and Hershey Kisses.  Sure hope someone wants it!

MISCELLANEOUS MONDAY

A non-stamping card, using retiring products:

I found this idea on Pinterest, of course.  I'm sorry, but I can't find the original poster.  Cut your DSP in strips of 4 x 3/4.
I started by making a + shape in the middle with two of the pieces.  Then I wove the other ones in as I went.  You will need to put a little adhesive on as you go to hold them in place.
When they were all woven, I cut them off randomly at different lengths to give it a little more eye appeal.
Punch out a butterfly and put on the top.
There is no message yet because I don't know how I will be using this.
Quick, easy, different ,and a great way to use up some of your DSP!

Retiring products:

  • Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder
  • Gold Soiree DSP
  • Modern Label Punch
  • Pistachio Pudding Card Stock

FRIENDLY FRIDAY

Today's post is another card using retiring products:

Retiring items:
Hostess Stamp Set Bloom With Hope, Beautifully Baroque Embossing Folder, Strawberry Slush and Baked Brown Sugar Card stock and Markers. Pistachio Pudding Twine, Festive Paper Piercing Template

I like this card, but after looking at it, I think I would put the Baked Brown Sugar card stock layered on a Very Vanilla Base the next time for a little more "pop".

I'm ready for the weekend.  It's been a busy week with ball games for 3 grandsons, a new puppy at one of the kids' houses, and a grandson's band concert.  BUT I love that we are close enough to take it all in.

Have a great weekend.
