OOPS! WEDNESDAY

Somehow Monday just got away from me.  Sorry for the miss.  It's such a busy time of the year, as you all well know!

These little cup favors I will be giving to my sorority sisters at our Christmas dinner/meeting this evening.  They are so cute and very easy to  make.

I found them on Pinterest.  Click here to see a video with directions for making.  The crafter is a little wordy so it takes a while to get through, but I appreciate her video, so just sit back and watch.

It was suggested to fill them with Ferrero Rocher Candies, which is a perfect fit.  However, they were a little more than I wanted to pay so I used Hershey Peppermint Kisses and Lindor chocolates balls.

There were 2 things I did slightly differently:
  • I used the 1 3/8" circle for the insert in the cup and the bottom instead of the Hexagon Punch.
  • I put my handle on with glue dots - seemed to be a little easier to work with.
You still have time to make some.  Hope you have time to try it out.  If not, it is still a perfect little favor for any event later in the year.

FRIGID FRIDAY!

Baby, it's cold outside!  At least it is at my house.  Not a fan of this cold weather, but it will be a little nicer next week and after all, it is almost winter.

Today's post is a gift card holder with candy.  The one on the top is the one we made at a meeting for a make n' take, using all current stamps.  The next one is the one I made for my class and for my nieces and nephews to give to them at our family Christmas party on Sunday.  I had to use an old stamp for the message, but everything else is current.

The bottom picture shows all nine together, using the deer and framelit from Santa's Sleigh because I ran out of houses from the DSP.

Fill with candy cane mints or Hershey Kisses.  I also put a $10 bill in mine instead of a gift card.

I found the directions for these here.  Once you get going, they are not hard to make.

I hope you get a chance to make one or more.  Let me know how they turn out.  Have fun!

MID-WEEK WEDNESDAY

I always like to make some kind of a little treat holder for my fellow bell choir ringers on holidays.  This was the little box I made this year for Christmas.  I thought I took a picture of all of them together, but I guess I didn't.  This is the one I had left over.  I filled the boxes with little Hershey bell treats.

I found the directions for this cute little box using your Envelope Punch Board.  Click here to see the video with Dee.
I used DSP from Warmth and Cheer Designer Series pack from the HC.  It worked great since you start with a 6 x 6 piece of paper.
Place your paper on the 1 3/8" line, punch and score.
Then slide paper down to the 4" mark, punch and score.
Keep turning paper to all sides and punch and score using the scores already created, like you always do when using the Envelope Punch Board.
Adhere together, folding the little end pieces to the outside to give a little contrast.
Of course, I used the Seasonal Bells Stamp Set and matching punch to create the bells on the front.
I hope my fellow ding-a-lings like them.

MONDAY

Wow!  Monday really crept up on me!  I just realized I forgot to post.  Yesterday was a very busy day.  Helping with the Christmas Pageant in the morning, then all day practice for bell choir concert in the evening. Love ringing those bells however.  And 4 choirs together was so much fun.

The card today is the one I made for our bell choir director to go along with our joint Christmas gift for her.

I used the Holly Berry Builder Punch, the Seasonal Bells Stamp Set and matching punch, the music paper from the Christmas Specialty DSP in the AC, the bow from the Santa's Sleigh Thinlets with a little bit of Wink of Stella on top of it, and the small Floral Affection Embossing Folder.
I can almost hear those bells ringing with the added Rhinestones!

FRIDAY

Today's post is a picture of a shadow box I made for a gift exchange last week at our Joyful Heart Stampers Christmas meeting.

I LOVE how it turned out.  I may have to make one for myself.  It was hard to give it away.  Of course I used the Santa's Sleigh Stamp Set and matching framelits.  Background is a piece of DSP from the Candy Cane Lane pack.  I also used the Mini Jingle Bells from the Holiday Catalog.  For the bottom of the picture I used the Seaside Embossing Folder with Two Way Glue and Dazzling Diamonds to look like sparkly snow.  The background of the picture, the "peace", the tree stars, and the sleigh are made out of  Pewter Foil per.
Merry Christmas!

WEDNESDAY

Today's post is a pic of the last s-a-s card for Thursday.  I wanted to use the Pine Bough Embossing Folder and the Seasonal Bell Stamp Set and matching punch and the Christmas Specialty DSP from the Annual Catalog.  It took me a while to come up with something that  worked, but I love how it turned out.

I think these bells are so adorable and can be used for many different occasions.  I would have loved to heat emboss them, but that is too much for a stamp-a-stack so I will try that on another card.

MAKE IT MONDAY

At our Joyful Hearts Stampers Christmas meeting Sat evening we received this as a gift from our awesome leader, Cindy Fodor.  I think I will be making some of these myself as gifts!

I visited Pinterest and saw several different recipes for the amounts you put in the jar, so I am going to leave it up to you to visit Pinterest and choose the recipe you like the best.  I searched "peppermint hot chocolate in a jar" and several popped up.
Can't wait to try some of this on a cold winter night.

ALSO Don't forget about the Year End Closeout Sale happening NOW through Jan 3.  Some products are while supplies last only.   The sale includes retiring items, year end close-outs, and clearance rack items.  Click here to see what is available.  When you get to the page, click on the section on the left to get to the sale.  You may have to write down what you want and then go back to my website to place your order.  Have fun shopping.  There are some great deals.  Don't miss out!

MONDAY MORNIN'

Hello everyone. I hope your Thanksgiving was great and that you got to spend time with family, friends, and loved ones.

The first Christmas stamp-a-stack is today so now I am working on the second set of cards for the Dec 8th stamp-a-stack.   I so wanted to use the Santa from the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set with the matching Cookie Cutter Punch and some of the Candy Cane Lane DSP.  So here is what I came up with for the first card.

I used the 2 1/2" Circle Punch for the DSP behind the Santa and the 1/2" circle punch for the little candy circles, red baker's twine, and Candy Cane Lane Washi tape.  The message is actually from the Santa set last year.
Now off to stamp with the crowd.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

I missed Wednesday's post - time just got away from me.  But, I hope that your Thanksgiving is wonderful and that you are able to spend time with loved ones.

Here is a little favor I made for my family who will be sharing our dinner together on Sunday.

I used the retired Bigz Die Two Tags.  Glued two together and then embellished with Washi tape, vanilla twine, and the scarecrow from Cookie Cutter Halloween. Each one holds a mini Dove Bar.
Blessings to you on this day!

FABULOUS FRIDAY

Just a quick post today since I am at a scrapbook weekend.  Trying to get my Ireland pictures from April in a scrapbook.  It's now or never!

Here are the cards we will be making at the first Christmas stamp-a-stack on Nov 28th.  I think I posted the mice one before, but here are the others.

HUMP DAY WEDNESDAY

Product alert!

Heard yesterday from Stampin' Up that the Stitched From the Heart Framelits will go on backorder SOON due to popular demand!  They will be on "non-orderable" status beginning Nov 21st.  Stamp sets that co-ordinate are still available.

So if you want to get these framelits before the new catalog comes out, order now by going to my Stampin' Up site listed at the top of the page or let me know and I will add to an order I am placing on Thursday, the 17th.

Here are some samples, with directions, of what you can do with the framelits.  I haven't even ordered mine yet, so I don't have a sample to show you, but I have taken several from Pinterest to entice you:

Card made by Kimberly Van Diepen of the Stampin' Up Artisan Team and an ornament created by Connie, also from the Artisan Team, and some tags made by Patty Bennett.

Don't you just love them!!?  I have GOT to get my order in also.  Order yours today.

MONDAY MONDAY

Better late than never, but I promised a post to explain the directions for the card box I posted last week.  Here is a picture of the box again and a second picture of a slightly different box I crated to save paper.

Here are the measurements for the box on the left:
  • 2 pieces of cardstock, one cut at 10 1/2 x 4 1/2 and one at 10 1/2 x 4 1/4.  This will take two pieces of 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock or one piece of 12 x 12 piece.
  • score the 10 1/2 x 4 1/2 piece at 4 and 4 1/2
  • score the 10 1/2 x 4 1/4 piece at 1/2, 2 1/2, 3, 7 1/2, 8, 10 and at 1/2" across one long side.
  • cut out the small square at one end of the top piece shown here and cut up on the other short score lines up to the long 1/2" score line.  Do NOT cut up on the last score line.
  • Put glue on the flaps shown below.  They are marked with white squiggles.  You should use, Tombow, Fast Fuse or the Sticky Strip so that your box stays together well.
  • Bring the sides of the box together, overlapping the edge that is glued.  Then bring the bottom flap up and adhere to the other bottom pieces.

Turn your box over and lay it at the bottom of the other piece so that the edges match.  Draw a pencil line where the top of the box will be.  Then put strong adhesive on this piece from the line down to the bottom of the cardstock piece (where my white squiggles are).  Lay your box back on and permanently attach.

  • Cut 2 pieces of DSP to decorate the front of the box.  Pieces are 4 1/4 x 3 3/4 and 4 1/4 x 3 1/2.
  • Cut a belly band 1 x 11.  Wrap around the box and glue together at the front.  The decoration that you make for the belly band will cover the glued section, so no worries that it is showing  now.
  • Make an embellishment for the belly band, fill the box with cards, and slide the belly band on to close the box.
  • The only difference I made for the second box is to change the size of the box flap so that you can get both the box and the flap out of an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of cardstock.   Both large pieces should be cut at 10 1/2 x 4 1/4.  Scoring and everything else is the same.  The one DSP piece will be slightly smaller also.
  • Your flap will be slightly smaller than your box with these measurements, but it really doesn't look bad or show up much when it is all put together.  It is your choice. Try both and see which you like best.  It all comes down to saving a little cardstock.
  • Here is how the box looks from the side, just to give you a different perspective.

FINALLY FRIDAY

Sorry I missed posting on Wednesday.  After election sleepiness and a bunch of stuff going on, I just didn't get it done.
I said I would post directions for the card box, but I am going to do that on Monday. Since today is Veteran's Day, I thought I would post a card in recognition of that.

I had a card base lying around that I had never finished so I just used it for this card.  the stamp set is For Our Country, now retired. It is the perfect set for this day to honor all of those who have served to keep us free!

THANK YOU VETERANS!

MONDAY MONDAY

Today's post is a card box and 5 cards that I used as a door prize at a vendor/craft show I did on Saturday.  The box can hold 5 or 6 cards, depending on the number of layers and/or embellishments that are on the cards.

The first picture is the box and then the rest are the cards.  I used the Floral Boutique DSP from the Annual Catalog.  It has different patterns with just Night of Navy and White.  LOVE this paper.  Very classy!

Some of the stamp images are retired, some are current.
Come back on Wednesday and I will give you the directions for creating this cute box.

All I needed on here, I guess, was a little red so we would have had red, white, and blue as a reminder of the Tuesday Presidential Election.  Whomever you are supporting, just PLEASE get out and vote.  It is our honor and duty!

WARM & WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY

Well, it is Nov 2 and it is to be in the mid 70's today.  Wow!  Gotta love it.
And now on to my post before I head out for probably the last round of golf for the year.

This card is for part of a baby shower gift this Sunday.  I am chipping in with others for a large gift, but wanted to add something small just from me so I made 22 thank you cards for the new momma.

This is NOT a Stampin' Up stamp, but I have had it for years from when I first began to stamp.  I did use Stampin' Up Markers to color and the dots in the background are from the Awesomely Artistic set and the words are from a retired Thank You Kindly set.  I also used the retired corner punch and the current Boho Chic Embossing Folder.
The colors are neutral since the new parents do not know what their precious bundle will be.

Looking forward to attending the shower since I haven't been to one for quite a long time.

Trick or Treat Monday

Happy Halloween to all you ghosties.  Since I already posted a couple of Halloween items, I don't have any new ones to show to celebrate today.  However, today's card is one we made at stamp camp and I actually used it for one of my grandkids for Halloween by drawing a little jac-o-lantern face on one of the pumpkins and changing the message to Happy Halloween.

Another great use of the Cookie Cutter Halloween Stamp Set and matching punch!
I hope your day isn't too spooky.

IT'S FINALLY FRIDAY

Friday is here and I am on my way to the beach for an annual shopping trip I take with my sorority sisters.  Always a fun time and it looks like the weather will be great.

I meant to take pictures of the treats I made for our church Fall Festival for today's post and I forgot so I thought I would do something with DSP to remind you that the Buy 3 Get 1 FREE DSP Special will be over on Monday.

Here is my card, which also went to my Proverbial Stampers Group for our Oct challenge to use any of the DSP's available for the special.

To get this look, cut strips of paper 1/2" wide.  You can start with a long piece and then cut it off as you go. There are several ways to make your pattern, so you can't really go wrong.  I found it easiest to start with one piece that goes the whole way across the paper (the long green one just below the center of the card). Then, you just start to lay the pieces back and forth on your paper.  One suggestion I would make is that you make sure that the piece that you are "butting" up against the other piece (like a "T"), is cut straight across using your paper cutter.  You might think you are cutting it straight with your eyeball, but if you are off a little, it starts to make your pattern crooked. I let a sliver of a space between by pieces.  Once you have all your pieces adhered, turn it over and cut off the excess.  I also suggest you use a glue that will "slide" when placing your piece so that you can move it slightly if needed.  Tombow is good for this  You may also notice that I glued on top of my  Silicone Craft Sheet so that any extra glue on the back of my pieces did not stick to my scrap paper or table.  If you don't have one of these, you need one!.
This is a great way for you to use left over DSP.  Try your hand at it and see what you can come up with.
The stamp set used is Basket of Wishes found on pg 49 of the Holiday Catalog.

Monday Monday

Halloween is getting close so today's post is a card we made at stamp camp last week just in time for the holiday.

For this card I used the Woodland Embossing Folder, Old Olive and Black cardstock,, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Word Window Punch (now retired), Markers, and Pumpkin Pie Glimmer Paper, Cookie Cutter Halloween Stamp Set and matching Cookie Cutter Punch, all found in the Holiday Catalog.  I LOVE this new punch and all that you can do with it when you match it up with any of the stamp images in the Halloween stamp set and the
Cookie cutter Christmas Stamp Set.  They are awesome and so much fun!  Here they are pictured below.  If you would like to order them or anything else, click on the link to my website at the top of the page to place your order, shipped directly to you.

FRIDAY AT LAST

My computer is driving me nuts!  It takes me forever to load a picture and get it into a folder.  Something has changed.  Don't know if I did it or the computer. Arggg!

But here I am finally.  Today's post is a picture of some gift card holders I have been working on for the Festival on Saturday and a craft show in Nov.  I have many different patterns for gift card holders, but saw this one on Pinterest and thought I would try it.  It was done by Becky Roberts and she has a video.

You start by cutting a piece of card stock at 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 and a 1 x 9 strip for the belly band.
  • Lay the long edge at the top of your Simply Scored and score at 2 and 6.
Fold up the larger section and adhere with Fast Fuse on each side.  This will be forming the pocket to hold your gift card.

Round the corners of the smaller section.  I also stamped a message from a retired set to the inside of this section.

Cut two pieces of DSP - one at 3 1/4 x 1 7/8 and one at 3 1/2 x 2 1/4.  Round the corners of the smaller piece on one long side. Then attach both pieces to the front sections of the holder.

I wrapped the belly band around the holder and creased it to fit securely.  Attach the band to itself with Fast Fuse.  I actually kept this attached part on the front of the holder because it is going to be covered up with the circles so you won't see where it is attached.  That will also make the back of your holder look more finished.

Punch out a 2" circle and a 1 3/4" circle from whatever color cardstock you choose and attach them to the belly band.

Stamp your teddy bear and punch it out with the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch.  Stamp and punch or just punch out a bow from the same punch. Attach both to the circles with Dimensionals.

Tie some twine or cotton thread around the band for decoration.  I also stamped "hello baby" from Teeny Tiny Wishes and punched it out with the Word Window punch. I attached it to the belly band with a Dimensional.

Many of the things I used are retired items.  I was trying to use up some old things.  The Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp Set and the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch are definitely new and they are awesome!  So many things you can do with them.

I hope you all have a great weekend.  Our wonderful, unexpected warm temps are going to be leaving and we will be getting cool air, wind and rain.  Well, it IS fall after all.

Thanks for visiting.

Wonderful Wednesday

Well, I'm cleaning out some of my old stamping stuff getting ready for a stamping yard sale and craft fair on Saturday and I came across a project that I think was left over from one of the conventions that I never put together.  So today was the day.
Here is how it turned out:

The box was creased and ready to fold and put together.  Before I did that I stamped some spots using one of the stamps from Gorgeous Grunge (LOVE this set) and leaves from Vintage Leaves, using Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, Crushed Curry and Always Artichoke inks.

I cut the tag a little shorter and then punched the top with the Tag Topper Punch.  The message is from Basket of Wishes.  Perfect for anytime, but especially this time of the year.

There was a sleeve of paper provided to wrap around the box, but I decided it took away from the stamped images so I didn't use it.  Ribbon and twine were provided so I finished off the box with them.  Hope someone at the festival has a special someone to whom they can give it!

Because you don't have this same box, don't fret.  Use your Gift Bag Punch Board to create your own box.

Thanks for visiting.  See you Friday.
