MONDAY

Our trip to Las Vegas was great and now it is back to reality.  The slot machines didn't like me so I made NO money!  However, this one picture on the strip made me think of Stampin' Up's Lift Me Up Stamp Set and matching Up & Away Thinlets so I did put together this simple card that we had at a meeting that still wasn't finished by me.

Cut two pieces (or more if you want) of the colors that you want to show through the balloon.

Then attach them to the balloon with the Fine Tip Glue or Tombow.  When you cut the balloon out either use the Precision Plate on your Big Shot or put a piece of waxed paper between the cardstock and the thinlit for helping to pop out the little pieces in the balloon.
Visit Pinterest to see lots of other samples using this fun stamp set and matching thinlits.

Don't forget that there are new SAB items and you can see them by clicking on the new picture on the right of the blog.  Thanks, Stampin' Up, for giving us even more great choices!

FRIDAY

This is a card we made at our meeting as a sample for the Special Reason/Stylish Stems Bundle on pg 42 the Occasions Catalog.  I think it is so pretty.  It showcases both the cut out image when using the thinlits and the flower you can create and attach.

I am heading home today so watch for new posts on Monday.  Maybe I'll come back a millionaire after playing the penny machines (NOT).

WEDNESDAY

This card uses the  Foxy Friends Punch.  I love all the little critters you can create using this punch.  Search on Pinterest for Stampin' Up Foxy Friends and see what else you can find.
I apologize for not knowing who this card belongs to.  I know it was the winner in our "pick your favorite card" contest.

MONDAY

This week I will just be posting pics of some swaps I have received lately.  I will be in Las Vegas celebrating my BIGGIE birthday, so I am doing these ahead and making them quick and easy.  Today's post is the Hide Tide Stamp Set in the Occasions Catalog.  Enjoy!

This one was done by Cindy Fodor and it is gorgeous.  The lighthouse is heat embossed with white.

This was a board someone shared using the same set.  I will be ordering this set as we get a little closer to warm weather.  Don't you love it and the idea that summer and the beach are coming?

Tomorrow will be the day when new Sale-a-bration sets are revealed.  Make sure you click on the link at the top of the page to go to the website and see what they are.  I will link when I can.

FRIDAY FOLD PROJECT

Today's post is a little tag holder created by Sondra Jumper at our Proverbial Stampers Team Meeting last month.

This was created using the Envelope Punch Board.  You can make so many projects with this board - much more than just envelopes.  Here are the directions I took a picture of that Sondra had for us.  I hope you are able to understand and make one for yourself.  The tags are made by using the Tag Topper Punch.  They would be great to put on gift packages.  The holder could also be used for other small goodies.

WEDNESDAY

I have been working all weekend on going through hundreds of swaps I have accumulated over the years from conventions and meetings.  The reason I started this project was because I will be working with other stampers this afternoon and evening to mount and make cards for a wonderful organization that was begun here in Chambersburg.  It is called Sweet Grace Ministries.  This org was created by a young woman who lost their first child to neonatal death.  It ministers to others who are grieving the loss of an infant through neonatal death, stillbirth, death soon after birth, and miscarriage.  It is such a wonderful non-profit group and has now spread to several other cities in our mid state area. The organization sends "thinking of you" and "praying for you" cards to those who have experienced such a loss.  Several women at church get together every couple of months to make the cards.  This month, because the group is spreading to other areas, unfortunately, the need for cards has grown.  So women from church and the community will be helping me prepare cards.  I tried to keep as many swaps as I could that had one of the above messages or had a butterfly, which is their symbol.  For some cards I added a butterfly and stamped or changed the stamped message. I have over 200 card fronts ready to go for the girls to mount and place with an envelope.  Here is a pic of the cards and another picture of several cards I just pulled out of the box.  There is also another box ready to go but I need to stamp a message on the front first.

We will stamp some more very simple cards so that we can make our quota of at least 350.  I love being able to do this, but am so sad that this tragedy happens to so many people.  Thank goodness for Sweet Grace Ministries that can touch and help heal so many!  If you would like, visit their website to see all that they do.  www.sweetgraceministries.com.

MONDAY

Today is the last day for a Valentine post.
This cute little envelope bag is something we made last year at a Joyful Heart Stampers Meeting.  I love the colors!  We used Blushing Bride and Sahara Sand

Other supplies we used were the Bloomin' Love Stamp Set (pg 46  of Annual Cattie) and the matching Bloomin' Heart Thinlit, which cuts out the heart and the flowers.  We also used the Banner from the Large Numbers Framelits.  If you don't have this, you can use the Double Banner Punch.  The envelope itself is the Mini Treat Bag Thinlit.  I have used this for several projects.  It is such a nice little envelope for something small and thin.

I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day tomorrow.  Our sermon on Sunday was on love, not just the "sappy" kind.  I pray that this world can be a place where we can love one another in all circumstances, as God has loved us!

ORIGAMI FOLD FRIDAY

Several weeks ago I was creating an elementary Sunday School lesson around the theme of love.  I searched on-line for an origami heart that would be easy enough for the kids to make (most were in grade 3-5).  I found a great one, fairly easy, and done by what sounded like a young man.  I will LINK below.

After making them in Sunday School, I decide I would make some for my 4 grandchildren and put a treat and money in them for Valentines Day.  Here is what they look like:

As you can see from the heart on the far right, it creates a small pocket in the back which is where I put a $5 bill and a mini Peppermint Pattie.  I used one sheet of DSP from the Sending Love Designer Paper Pack in the Occasions Cattie to make each heart.  You can use any size DSP as long as it is a square.  If you would like to try and make some click HERE to see the video.  It is definitely helpful and done very well.

WOOPSIE WEDNESDAY

Well, I'm behind again.  Busy Super Bowl party Sunday, followed by Stamp Camp on Monday so my Monday post didn't get done Because of that, I am going to share two ideas with you today to make up for my slacking off.
I also promised that I would share some ideas for Valentines Day so here goes.

The first is a cute little treat holder CASED from Dawn Griffith.  They are so quick and easy.  I have made quite a few.  The ones I am showing here I will be giving to my bell choir today.

There are a couple of things I like about this holder -
  • It takes a 3 x 6 piece of DSP which means I cut the paper in the Sending Love Paper Stack (pg 15 of Occasions cattie) in half
  • There are 2 quick, easy scores, some folding, and you are done
  • You can use these with any DSP for any occasion.
I used the heart punch and the Sweet Treats message from Teeny Tiny Wishes instead of Happy Valentine's Day for a little change.

To see a video on how easy this is, click HERE and watch Dawn create.  Thanks, Dawn.  I'm lovin' these!

The second post is one of the cards we made at Stamp Camp this week for Valentines Day.

I used the card from last Wednesday's post and changed it up for the holiday. The card uses the new "HAPPY" debossing folder from pg 40 of the Occasions Cattie.

First you emboss the image.  Then you stamp firmly, but not so hard that you get down into the crevices, onto the word.  The polka dots are from Playful Backgrounds (pg 121 of Annual Cattie).  I used the little lady bugs from the Hostess Set Love You Lots.  The heart in the lady bug's hand is from the Owl Punch.  It has a little Wink of Stella on it for bling, but it is hard to see here.

FLY AWAY FRIDAY

Sorry I'm late.  The days seems to fly by and it was Friday before I realized it.  Also, the blogger site is not cooperating and I have had trouble creating this post.  To help you fly away also here is a card we are making next week at stamp camp using the Dragonfly Dreams Bundle found on page 26 of the Occasions Catalog.

It was just announced through Stampin' Up that this Bundle has been the top seller in the Occasions Catalog.  Doesn't surprise me.  It is so beautiful and you can do so much with it.
Other products use on this card are Falling In Love DSP (pg 51 of Occasions)-so beautiful-, Metallic Foil Doilies (pg 175 Annual Cattie), Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper (pg 175 Annual Cattie), Blushing Bride, Sahara Sand and Whisper White card stock, Pearls.  the sparkly ribbon is one of the items you can choose for your FREE item when you place your $50 order during Sale-a-bration. You get a spool of silver and a spool of gold.  They are beautiful.
Check out Pinterest to see all the lovely things that are being created using this Bundle.

Just a little tip for creating this card.  Cut your small white piece on the front out of the larger second white layer before you adhere the large one to the card.  No one can see that you have a hole cut out of it and it is a good way to save paper.

Join me next week as I post some things to help you get ready for Valentines Day.

MID WEEK WEDNESDAY

Can you believe it is already February?

Just a quick post today - a busy day ahead.

This is a card I created for the January Color Sketch Challenge for our Proverbial Stampers Team.  We were to use Whisper White, Pool Party and Watermelon Wonder. I was also anxious to use my new HAPPY embossing folder from the Celebration Duo Embossing Folders on Page 40 of the Occasions Catalog.  The Happy Birthday comes from the Window Shopping Stamp Set that Bundles with the Window Box Thinlit on pg 43.

To get this look you first emboss on the white cardstock.  then you stamp over the embossing, pressing completely but carefully - not too hard - so that the ink will stay on the top of the letters and not down into the crevices.

I don't have the stamp set for this yet but that will be coming soon.  I think they will pair together perfectly.
