FUN FOLD FRIDAY, JUNE 30

Sorry I missed the Wednesday post, but I was not feeling well and spent the whole day sleeping and chilling.  Feeling much better today.

Today's post is an easy fun fold that can be used for many things.

First cut your card stock at 7 1/8 x 8.  Then follow the directions for cutting and folding by looking at the diagram below:
In case it is hard to read, you are cutting out a piece on each side that measures 2 x 4 3/4.
Then you fold down and crease the top of the card at 2 3/8.
The side flaps then fold in.
The front is decorated with the new Happy Birthday Thinlit, cut out in both Black and Berry Burst and glued together just off-side so that you have a two layer look.
The words are then glued onto one of the circles from the Layering Circle Framelits and the whole thing is popped up with Dimensionals.
The DSP is from the Fresh Floral Pack (pg 187).
I LOVE this new thinlit, don't you?!
Now I need to find someone special to send this to.

MONDAY, JUNE 26

Today's post is a simple little card that we made at our Proverbial Stampers Group Meeting.  It's very quick and easy, but is so cute.  I love black and white.

This card uses black cardstock for the base with a layer of Whisper White.  The Pick a Pattern Washi Tape was used as a background with a small piece of Foil Frenzy DSP.
The Label Me Pretty Stamp Set (pg 27) and the Pretty Label Punch was used for the message.
The new Black Shimmer Ribbon and the Metallic Enamel Dots (LOVE these) were used as embellishments.
What a simple card to put together for any occasion.

FRIDAY, JUNE 23

First of all, Happy official summer to everyone!  The only thing I don't like about the first day of summer is knowing that now the days will get shorter and darkness will come earlier, bit by bit.

As promised, today's post is a card using the wood crate as an inside pop-up card.

The outside of the card uses the Seaside Embossing Folder and the HAPPY from the Celebration Duo Emb Folder.  First you stamp the HAPPY from the Happy Celebrations Stamp Set (pg 34) and then line up the Emb Folder to emboss over top of the word.  The present is from the Santa's Sleigh Stamp Set (pg 119).

Now here is the fun part - the inside:

I made the wood crate out of one of the Wood Texture DSP papers.  When you cut it out (2 times) you do not need to cut out the bottom of the crate.  Glue it together as you would if you were making the whole crate.  Then just glue the left side and the back of the crate, lay it in the fold of the card, close the card, rub , and your crate will be adhered to the inside.
Cut out several inside straight pieces with 1/4" fold on each end and attach to the inside of the crate.  Use these to adhere whatever you want to appear in the inside of your crate.  I cut out the Fox from the Birthday Memories DSP (pg 69), made a few more gifts like the front of the card and punched out a few balloons, then stamped them with images from the Playful Backgrounds Stamp Set (pg 150).
This is so cute, and once again, the possibilities are endless.
Have a great weekend.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 21

For today's post I will be sharing a few crate projects using the Wood Crate Framelits Die.

This is the basic crate.  We made the little note card holder at On Stage in April.
The second one uses one of the Dies from the Lovely Laurel Thinlits with a little Copper Ribbon.
the one in front uses Soft Sky card stock instead of the DSP.  I cut out the two pieces of crate first and then stamped on the with the Woodgrain Background Stamp.  Using card stock makes the crate a little more sturdy, depending on what you might want to put in it.

I LOVE the This Little Piggy Stamp Set and thought of this cute little guy right away when I saw the Crate Die.  I used Watercolor Paper stamped with Archival Ink so that it was a little easier to color him in with my ink pad and an Aqua Painter.  It says "hogs and kisses" so I filled the crate with Hershey Kisses.
For the second project, I just turned the crate upside down after making and created a little trunk where the kitty and the flowers could sit.  The kitty, basket and flowers are from the Sitting Here Stamp Set.

I found a video here to show you how to put the crate together and also give you a couple more ideas.

Come back on Friday to see a card using the crate as an inside pop-up card.

MONDAY, JUNE 19

So sorry I have been absent for a while.  Just too much going on, I guess.

This week I would like to focus on some projects using the products in the Wood Textures Suite found on pg 159 of the catalog.  Here are the items included in the suite:

Click here to watch a Stampin' Up video that showcases the products.
If you order the Bundle you save 10%.  Included in the Bundle are the Framelits and the Stamp Set.  The Framelits make the little crate and also cut out the rooster, tag, star, moon and heart.  The circle can be punched with the Circle Punch or a circle from the Circle Framelits.  The Wood Textures 6 x 6 DSP is not included, but you are going to want to get that also.  The paper is really cool, double sided, and can be used for lots of projects.

Today I am posting several cards that use the items in the Suite.

I LOVE the little kitty card!  It was CASED with a few changes from a Pinterest post.  The kitties are from the Pretty Kitty Stamp Set on pg 49.  They had to be fussy cut, but I think it was worth it!
The second card uses Copper Foil Paper and the flowers are embossed with Copper Powder.  The little ribbon is Copper Trim Ribbon.
The third card was inspired by a barn door shower curtain I saw when I was surfing the web.
There are so many possibilities with all of these products.
Come back Wednesday to see a few crates that I made using the Die.

MONDAY, JUNE 5

Good morning!
We had a wonderful stamp meeting and stamp fest on Sat.  Instead of jumping into posts with the crate this week, I am going to share some things from the Sat event.  I'll get back to the crate posts next week.
One of the awesome things in the catalog is the Color Theory on page 146 and 147 of the new catalog.  Here is a display board showcasing the items you can purchase from the suite.  The board was created by the talented Debbie Paisie.

This suite is so awesome and there are so many things you can create with these products.  Not all of them are even shown on this board.  Page 146 has even more.  I love that you can create for different seasons with one set.  The color theory Memories and More Card Pack has beautiful and fun DSP and stickers for your cards or scrapbooking.

Here is a card for summer.  I LOVE this Adirondack chair.
I'm not sure who created this card.  It was on the display board as one of the swaps.
Come back on Wed or visit Pinterest to see so many more ideas for the Colorful Seasons Stamp Set.

FRIDAY

Whoop!  Whoop!  The new catalog is now live and there are SO many great new stamps sets and accessories.
One you may have seen is a sneak peak set we got at On Stage in April.  It is "This Little Piggy" and it is adorable.  I can't say I'm into pigs but Charlotte's Web is my favorite children's story and so, when I saw this, it reminded me so much of Wilbur.  I will be making some cards with that theme in the future.  For now, here is the card I created for our team's Virtual Swap, which was to create anything using a new product.  I'm showing the outside and inside.

Stamping this little piggy works best if stamped with Black Archival Ink onto Watercolor Paper.  That way you can use your blender pen to color him in.  On the inside I, obviously, didn't have watercolor paper, but it still seemed to work pretty well.  To get the spots, I just dipped my Blender Pen into the lid of the Sahara Sand Ink Pad and made random splotches.  And don't forget those really cute Enamel Dots, which are back again!

Come back next week to see posts using the new Crate Die and matching stamp set.  I am demoing at stamp fest so I have several samples.  Have a great weekend.
