MONDAY

This week I will be showing you some cards/projects using the new Embossing Paste.  I just got mine and have seen several videos with different techniques.  Here is my first attempt:

I wanted to try something I hadn't seen on a video and so this is what I did.  First I mixed a couple of drops of Crumb Cake Ink into my paste. I thought I would be able to make it a little marble to get a two-tone look, but the ink mixed in pretty smoothly.  So I first used the Crumb Cake paste and spread it onto the brick stencil.  I heated it with a heat gun so it would dry quickly.  Notice that it is pretty random - not all bricks are filled in and the whole piece of card stock is not covered.  That is the look I wanted.  Then I laid the stencil down in the same position and went over it with a little bit of plain white paste. I think the result turned out just fine.

I used the sand, water, and birds from High Tide and the message from Colorful Seasons.  The background piece behind the window was made with an Aqua Painter dipped into the ink in the lid of the ink pad.  There is Wink of Stella on the water but it is hard to see here.
Here is a Stampin' Up video to show you the basics on using your Embossing Paste.

I can't wait to try some different techniques and pass on the results to you.  See you on Wednesday.

P.S.  Don't forget today is the last day to place an order and receive your $5 off coupon for an order in August.  Also, the special with all the percs to become a new demonstrator ends today.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 26

Working on my July Sketch Challenge card for the Proverbial Stampers.  Here is the template and the card I came up with.

For this card the Stamps Sets I used are the Daisy Delight and the Marble Background.  The flower is stamped with Calypso Coral on Calypso Coral card stock. The little green flowers at the bottom are stamped with Pear Pizazz.  The message is from Flourishing Phrases on pg 24. The ribbon is the new Shimmer Ribbon.

I will be getting ready to see some videos Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of some of the new products in the Holiday Catalog on our Stampin' Up site.  This is for demonstrators only - one of the percs for being a demonstrator - getting to see things early!

Speaking of that - now is an awesome time to join Stampin' Up as a demonstrator.
Our Christmas in July promotion makes it easier than ever to sign up to be a demonstrator!

Along with the regular $99 purchase of a Kit (where you choose the products you want valued at $125), new recruits will receive a FREE Essentials Gift Pack including Paper Snips, SNAIL Adhesive, Grid Paper, two D Blocks (one for them and one for a stamping friend!), and a Bone Folder. That’s an added value of $52 US/$68 CAN! And to give your recruits a taste of the perks of being a demonstrator, we will also include the Carols of Christmas Stamp Set from the holiday catalog for FREE ($20 US/$26 CAN)!
How can you say NO to that?? There is no obligation to remain a demonstrator if you do not wish to., but why would you want to quit?  Let me know if you would be interested.  I would LOVE to have you join our team!

WEDNESDAY, JULY 19

A few pictures from my first Open House this morning:

Several displays of cards, paper pumpkin, customer favors, window box thinlit.

Retired stamps and accessories that customers could purchase or get 2 free with their $50 order today.

Display board of cards using some new products.  These are cards I have made at different meetings in the last month.

And now just a cute "This Little Piggy" card I made as a swap:
The piggy on the front is stamped on watercolor paper and then colored with ink and the Aqua Painter.  The inside uses just part of the Crate Die and the little piggy once again stamped on watercolor paper with pink and Sahara Sand ink and the Aqua Painter.

MONDAY, JULY 17

This week I will be holding my new Annual Catalog Open House on Tuesday and Thursday.  Each person attending will receive this cute little treat as a gift for attending.

I used the Crate Die and some of the items from the July Paper Pumpkin Box for a creation "out of the box".  It is filled with chocolate, of course.

Here are the 2 projects that are designed for this month's creations. . . . . .

. . . . a cute little gift bag and a stamped card.  BUT, remember that you do not have to create what is suggested.  You can use your supplies to make whatever suits your fancy.  The crate above shows you something different.
I still have lot of supplies left and will be using them for more bags or cards or creative inventions.  So much to do and so little time.

FUN FOLD FRIDAY, JULY 14

Here is another card from Set Sampler Day.  Love this little easel card using the Daisy Delight Stamp Set, matching punch, and coordinating Delightful Daisy DSP.  The stamp set and punch are a Bundle with a 10% savings (pg 127).

Directions for the card:
Cut your base card at 8 1/2 x 4 1/4 and score the 8 1/2 length in half at 4 1/4.
On the top piece of the scored card, cut out a piece on each side measuring 1 x 4 1/4.
Score the top flap that is left after cutting in half, which is 2 1/8.
Place a piece of card stock at the bottom of the card to "catch" the center section to make an easel.

Here is what the card looks like with the cut-out sections and the fold in the top flap:
My Bundle comes this week.  Can't wait!  If you haven't ordered yours yet, it is once again on backorder.  Be patient - it will be available again soon.  So VERY popular!
Have fun creating one of these yourself.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 12

Even though I am in the Poconos and not at the beach, I sure will be lounging and there is a lake so maybe we will get to the beach after all.  This card is one we made at Set Sampler Day with the Proverbial Stampers.  Love this little beach chair.

This card uses the two-step chair from the Colorful Seasons Stamp Set and a piece of DSP from the Color Theory Paper Stack.
To make the background, ink your block directly onto the ink pad and then go over the block with your Aqua Painter.

MONDAY, JULY 10

We are off to the Poconos for 5 days with 5 other couples.  These are the little pillow treats I made for everyone.  One piece of chocolate for each night.  Hope they enjoy!

I used the new Crate Die and filled the bags with a Dove & peanut butter chocolate, a Lindstrom chocolate, a small Peppermint Pattie, a mini Heath Bar, and a candy cane mint.
Of course I made one for hubby and me also.  Too good to pass up!

FUN FOLD FRIDAY, JULY 7, 2017

Today's card is another one we made at our Proverbial Stampers Set Sampler Day.  We made so many great cards using new products.
The original card, I believe, was created by BJ Peters.

This card uses the Daisy Delight Stamp Set and the new Daisy Punch which can be purchased at Bundle Savings of 10% off (pg 127).
The DSP is Fresh Florals (pg 187)
The flower is stamped and punched twice and layered on top of each other with a Dimensional between the layers.  The center is one of the new Clear Faceted Gems (pg 197).

When you open the card, it looks like this:
Your card is cut 4 1/4 x 11 and scored at 1 1/4, 4, and 6 3/4.
Panel pieces are 4 x 1, 4 x 2 1/2, 4 x 2 1/2, 4 x 4.

Have fun making one of your own.

MONDAY, JULY 3

Today's post is in celebration of the 4th of July holiday tomorrow.  I was not creating a card for myself so I visited Pinterest and found so many cute cards.  I am showcasing 2 this morning:

This card was created by Sandy Hancock and uses the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits in a very cute way. The blue scribbles have a piece of blue card stock behind them to give it a solid look.  The number is from the Large Number Framelits.  I believe the star might be a retired punch.

The second card. . .

. . . is created by Holly Smith using the Eastern Palace products.  The more I see of this Bundle and the additional products, the more I want to create with it.  This is so cute. The Bundle and other co-ordinating products can be found on page 19 of the new catalog.

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday celebration.  Glad to be an American and so proud of all those who work to keep us free and safe.
