Sorry I haven’t posted this week. My computer’s hard drive is being restored (hopefully) and I haven’t figured out yet how to do all the blog stuff on my IPad. I’ll be back soon - maybe even later today.

FUN FOLD FRIDAY

I know it's not February yet, but I wanted to show you a cute little Valentine Treat Holder early enough that you will have time to make some yourself if you want.  I made 40 of these  - some for my sorority and some for the first graders I help with writing one day a week.

Each one holds a single Hershey Kiss and I found a bag of kisses wrapped with white paper.  It was the only one on the shelf and I have never seen white ones before.  I thought they would be perfect for this project.

I am not going to reinvent the wheel to tell you how to make these.  Click here to see the video by Brenda Quintana where she will show you what to do.  So easy, and her directions are great.  I also used the DSP from last year because I had some left over.  For any paper that has a directional pattern, here is a picture of how to place your paper on your Simply Scored so that the pattern will go down the side of the heart correctly.

Long piece is 4 x 1 and is scored at 1", 2", 3".  This piece can actually be cut any way at all because it all gets covered by the small pieces so it doesn't matter what the pattern looks like.

Two small pieces cut at 2 3/8 x 2 scored at 1" and 1 7/8".  Then follow Brenda's directions.

She suggested using Tombow and normally I would agree because I love Tombow Glue, but I used Fast Fuse and it worked great also.  It was easier to use and I didn't get sticky, icky fingers while creating.  Just apply your Fast Fuse close to the scored seams so your heart will retain its shape.

Yesterday I hosted a class in my home to make the Perennial Birthday Kit cards.  The cards are very pretty, the kit is super easy, and the box in which to keep the cards is adorable.

Here is what the cards look like.  I made them exactly as the direction sheet showed.  On the inside of the cards I tried to put as many different birthday messages as I could find in my stash of old stamps.  You end up with four of each of these cards so you have a total of 16 when you are done.

I added "Happy Birthday" to the top of the box using Gold Foil Paper and the Happy Birthday Thinlit.

MONDAY

Remember the Brusho sample with blue and green I showed you on Friday?  This is what I ended up creating with it.

As always, it is prettier in person.  I covered it with Versa Mark and then Iridescent Ice and heat embossed it to give it sparkle.  The Wink of Stella works also, but the color bleeds off onto the Stella brush and you have to wipe it off for future use.  I hate to waste the Wink of Stella by cleaning it off.  For this card I was using some pieces that were cut a long time ago for a stamp camp project.  I think the green might be Gumball, which is a retired In Color.  I used the butterfly (Fluttering) and Softly Falling embossing folders.  The message is from the Seasons of Cheer stamp set.

I was playing with some Brusho last night - a new product in the Occasions Catalog.  I started out with a different idea using all of the celebration die cuts below, but changed my mind and ended up with this card:

Brusho is just like powder so you want to keep the lids on the containers.  Punch several holes in the lid with your "pokey tool" and you will be ready to go.

You can spritz you watercolor paper with water or you can wet the paper using your Aqua Painter.  I just spritzed mine, because I thought I liked the more speckled image instead of all of the colors running together.  I am going to try that next.  However, colors still run together somewhat, which is perfectly fine! On this card I used red, yellow and green.

Just tap your container over your paper to release the Brusho.  It takes a while for the Brusho to dry, so be patient.  After it is almost dry you can finish it off my using your heat tool.

Here is what the Brusho looks like, some other samples of the celebrate cut-out, and another paper using just the blue and green.  Haven't decided what to do with it yet.

This week I will be posting a few cards from the swaps at our Proverbial Stampers meeting on Saturday.  Today's card uses the awesome Petal Palette set and matching thinlits found on pg 23 of the Occasions Catalog.

I love, love this Bundle and it is going on my order today!  The flowers are colored with the Stampin' Blends.  The embossing folder is also new and is found on the same page.  There are two that come together and they are called Petal Pair Embossing folders.  The message is heat embossed in silver and then the little swirly design is cut with the thinlits from Silver Foil Paper to coordinate with the silver embossing.  Thanks to Sondra Jumper for this beautiful card.

MONDAY

Today's post is the last stamp camp card for the month.  This is a very simple bridge fold card.  You can get very elaborate with these cards and add many layers in the background, but this is the basic card.

This card uses the  SAB Party Pandas Set - FREE with a $50 order!

This card is cut at 8 x 4 1/4", scored along the long side at 1 1/4, 2 1/2, 5 1/2, 6 3/4.  

The DSP panels are 1 x 4; the center piece is 4 x 2 3/4 with a top layer of 3 3/4 x 2 1/2.

I used the Layering Circles Framelits for the  panda circle and the background circle. 

You will want to stamp your message before you adhere your bridge. (My message is a very old retired stamp).

To attach the bridge, fold the left panels down flat on top of one another and spread the right panels out flat.  Then adhere both ends down.  This allows the card to fold flat to fit in a regular envelope.

There are several videos on youtube for this fold.  You can also add more layers in the inside of the card to make it really special.

Another post of a Jan stamp camp card using the new Waterfront Stamp Set: 

This stamp set was inspired by the awesome Million Dollar seller and leader of our Proverbial Stampers Team, Connie Heisey.  This set is so versatile and already has lots of posts on Pinterest.  Check them out.

The inks used for this card were Soft Suede, Old Olive (stamped off for the grass), and Crushed Curry.  After stamping I used the Stitched Shapes Framelits to create the piece in the middle and then reattached it to the card base.

I missed yesterday's post, so I am here today.  This week I will be posting pictures of January Stamp Camp cards.  This first card actually uses retired items from the Holiday Catalog, but I had some things left I wanted to use.  It's also January and that means snow and cold, so I wanted to make a snowman card.  

This card is so cute and I saw a sample of one cut like this on Pinterest.  I am so sorry, but I don't remember who posted their card!  It opens to reveal a cute inside also.

Here are the card details:

Stamp set - Seasonal Chums and matching Framelits

Year of Cheer Specialty DSP

Year of Cheer Washi Tape

Foil Snowflakes

Marina Mist and Whisper White card stock

Base is 6 x 7 1/4", score on the long side at 3"

Inside piece 5 1/4 x 2 3/4"

DSP 5 1/2 x 2"

Stamp snowman image and then cut out with Framelit.

Color with Stampin' Blends

Punch out white circle with 2 1/4" Circle Punch

Punch layer behind snowman circle with 2 1/2" Circle Punch and adhere circles on top of one another

Adhere snowman to white circle

Cut Silver Foil Snowflake in half and tuck slightly under DSP piece with Tombow

Snowman circles on the front are adhered with Dimensionals, inside circles are just glued to card

Embellish with Washi Tape

I know most of this card uses now retired items from the Holiday Catalog, but maybe you also have some of these things left over and/ or maybe some of them will eventually show up on the Clearance Rack.  If not, substitute and make a card of your own using different products.  Have fun!

Today I will share the cards that I put in the stationery box I showed you on Wednesday.  First the regular size cards.  I made four, but I could have fit one more comfortably in the box.

I tried to make them simple and to also compliment the box.  I used scraps left from the DSP.  The stamp sets I used were Basket of Wishes and Birthday Blooms.  I colored with the new Stampin' Blends.

Here are the four notecards.  My cards are ones from quite a few years ago so they are not 3 x 3, but the current 3 x 3 cards would work perfectly.

I had fun making and filling this box.  I would like to make more, but I will have to have a purpose before I do it again, because I sure don't want them sitting around, not being used.  I'm sure I will think of something!

Well, Happy 2018 to all!  I'm hoping I can get back in the groove and keep the blog more up to date.  Things just got busy over the holidays and I found that I wasn't even working on anything new.  However, the other day I spent some time in my craft room after seeing a post from someone who made a stationery box.  I just had to try one.  So here is my version.

This box was so much fun to make -  a little labor intensive, but, I think, once you have made one the second one would go faster. I used the Whole Lot of Lovely DSP from the annual Catalog.  It is SO pretty! The lid holds this box together, so here is a picture of the box once you take the lid off and the box "pops open".

The box is filled with 4 regular cards, 4 note cards (3 x 3), a small handmade notebook, and a pocket for stamps.  The empty pocket should hold some tags, but I didn't get around to making them yet.

Here is a picture of a matching pen also.  The pen is supposed to be attached in a loop under the small notebook, but my pen was just a tad too long so it didn't work.  I will just be sitting the pen in one of the pockets so it doesn't get lost.

I made a small roll of DSP and put it inside the pen to match the box.

I watched several different videos or visited several blogs to see how the box was made.  The you tube video I followed was made by MayMay.  Even though the video was a little long, I found her directions easy to follow and dimensions for the box and DSP were on her blog.  Click here to watch her video.  You can also just go to you tube and choose any number of blogs or videos to look at.
