WINTERY WEDNESDAY

Well, we were part of the big snow storm last night and today.  It wasn't as bad as it could have been, but I always like one big snow so I was o.k. with all of it.

Even though I didn't come up with an idea from the flower show to spur me on to a card, the show was great.  It was a Holland theme and I had a great time.

The snow today and one of the pictures I took of birds around my birdfeeder did inspire me to make today's card.

The real photograph is of a Fox Sparrow.  They are so pretty and one of the largest sparrows.  They come through here around this time and stay for a little while before moving on.
I tried to make my bird look like the real one, but there is really no comparison.  You can't really duplicate Mother Nature.
I used the Best Birds Stamp Set and Thinlits.  I stamped the bird on watercolor paper so I could color with ink and the Blender Pen.  The background square is from the Stitched Shapes Framelits and then I cut out and stamped on one of the plain square framelits.  I put some White Gel Pen ink on the branch to replicate the snow.
Hope someone comes to dig out our driveway tomorrow so I can get to appointments.
Have a great day.

MONDAY

A quick post today as I am heading out and staying overnight with a friend to go to the Philadelphia Flower Show.  Maybe I will come back with some inspiration for a card.

Today's post is a card for my hubbie's birthday on Tuesday.  It is a little labor intensive, but so cute and definitely for a special person.

See you Wednesday!

WEDNESDAY

Today's Sale-a-bration post is showcasing the Avant Garden Stamp Set.  This is another card we made at stamp camp this week.

There is so much you can do with this simple little set.  And don't you just LOVE the Falling in Love DSP?!! It is so beautiful and with such soft colors.  I will show a picture at the bottom of the post.
Here we stamped the flower once with Blushing Bride for the center and then stamped off with the flowers on each side.  The rest of the colors are Sahara Sand and Soft Sky.  The Thinking of You message is from an old set that I absolutely use all the time - Sincere Salutations.  It came out a funky color because someone had not cleaned my stamp and when I went to stamp in Sahara Sand, this is out it came out.  Fortunately it blended right in.  The ribbon is vanilla and I think I found it on the Clearance Rack.  This card can be used for any occasion with a different sentiment stamp.

Here is a pic of the DSP which can be found on pg 51 of the Occasions Catalog.  You might want to get this before it retires.  Sometimes they carry over DSP, but not very often.  I sure hope they do with this pack!

Don't forget the March Hostess Code is at the top of the panel to the right.

MONDAY MARCH 6

This week I am going to concentrate on posts that use Sale-a-bration products since we are in the last month of this great annual event.  Today's post is a card we will be making at Stamp Camp this week.

This card uses several stamps in the Delicate Details set.

My camera doesn't do this justice.  The colors really pop.  This is CASED from a card I saw on Splitcoaststampers listed with BK Cards.  I changed the colors a little, used a larger doily and circles so my customers could use a different message if they wanted, used SAB FREE silver ribbon, and embossed the message in silver.

I also wanted to show you how I placed the stamps on the block.
This way you have all three and do not have to stamp so many times and worry about getting the designs on straight.  Do it once and you have all three designs.

Make sure you are getting your list ready for your order so you can get this FREE product or others that are available.    Click on the pictures in the right panel to see other FREE SAB products and click on the link at the top of the blog to go to my website and place your order.  The March Hostess Code is at the top of the informational panel to the right.
HAPPY SHOPPING!

FRIDAY

We made this card at our monthly Proverbial Stampers meeting last night.  I love how it showcases all the Sale-a-bration products you can get when you place your $50 order.

The SAB products on this card are the background DSP called Inside the Lines and the Any Occasion Stamp Set from the first SAB booklet, and the Sweet Sugarplum Glimmer Paper from the second SAB reveal.

Doesn't that make you want to get your order in so that you can get some of these great FREE products?!   Remember that for EACH $50 you order, you get to choose one of the FREE SAB products.

This card is so simple and yet so pretty.  You can also color the background DSP, which takes this paper to a whole new realm.

If you would like to place an order, go to my Stampin' Up website listed at the top of the page and do just that.  The Hostess Code for the month is K974CW2V.  Place your order and it will be sent directly to you.  This month, anyone who places a $50 or more order will have their name placed in the hat for a drawing to receive the hostess benefits once we reach $150.  Remember, that if you order $150 you will want to place your own Customer Order so that you automatically receive Hostess Benefits.
Have fun shopping.  Let me know if I can help in any way.  Sale-a-bration ends at the end of March so you don't want to miss out!

WEDNESDAY

Today's post is a card I made for two of my high school girlfriends that share birthdays in February with me.  We don't see each other often, but we do at least touch base in February to wish each other a happy day.  This was a "biggie" for all of us so I had to make sure I sent a card.

This is much prettier and vibrant in person!  I used the Affectionately Yours DSP and the long strip along the side has shiny copper in it.  Then I embossed the numbers from the Number of Years Stamp Set in Pewter to make more bling. The design was created to meet the February Sketch Challenge for our Proverbial Stampers group.
If we don't like the number of years we are celebrating we at least need a pretty card.  Happy birthday to the 3 of us.
