MONDAY

I apologize for being absent last week.  The week was just a little crazy and before I knew it, it was already over.  Speaking of crazy, today's post uses the Crazy About You Stamp Set and matching Flower Medallion Punch.

I will be highlighting cards this week that we are making at stamp camp.  All of them will include many items that are on the Retirement List so that you can see a few ideas for those never-to-be-seen again items you might want.

Products used:
Crazy About You Stamp Set: flower, words & leaves (R)
Flower Medallion Punch (R)
Watermelon Wonder Ink Pad (R)
Mint Macaron Ink Pad (R)
Tip Tap Taupe Ink Pad (R)
Cucumber Crush Card stock (R)
Gold Wink of Stella (R)
Affectionately Yours DSP (R)
Night of Navy Ink Pad (Not Retiring)
Dots from Timeless Textures Stamp Set (Not Retiring)
Daffodil Delight Card stock (Not Retiring)
Clear Wink of Stella (Not Retiring)
Gold Faceted Gems (New Product).

You still have time to order some of these products.  All stamp sets will be orderable until May 31.
As I write this the items that are now gone are the Watermelon Wonder Pad and Ink and the Affectionately Yours DSP.  Everything else is showing up as still in stock.
Maybe you still have some of these discontinued items.  If so, you now have another idea on how to use them.  If there is something that you want that is still available, don't wait to place your order!
The May Hostess Code is listed at the top of page in the right hand panel.

FRIDAY FOLD DAY

Today's post is a cute and easy little folded Ghiradelli Candy holder.  I made this as a little thank you for the physical therapist who has helped me with my shoulder.  Wednesday was my last day for PT and now I will do my exercises at home.

Here is the finished project and then I will show you the steps to create one yourself.

These are the pieces you will need and the measurements:
  • 1 piece of cardstock at 8 5/8 x 2 5/8 - score at 2 7/8, 3 5/8, 6 1/2, 7 1/4.  Use your Corner Rounder Punch to round the corners of the short end.
  • 2 pieces of cardstock at 3 x 2 7/8, scored every half inch with the 3" side at the top of your Score Pal.  Fold on the score lines like a fan, back and forth, with the first fold being a mountain fold.  Go over creases with your bone folder.
  • 2 pieces of DSP - 1 at 2 5/8 x 2 3/8, the other at 1 1/8 x 2 3/8.  Round two corners of the small DSP piece.

After folding your two smaller card stock pieces, attach them to the edges of the middle section of your large piece with Tombow. The accordion piece "flap" should be heading to the inside of the holder.

Now put Tombow on the top accordion fold and bring the front of the holder around to attach to the accordion pieces.  I put glue on both at the same time because it is hard to get back in to glue one once you have already glued down the other side.

Put a Velcro dot on the lid and holder to keep closed.  Add two Ghiradelli candies.
This holder was actually made to hold tea bags, but this candy is also a perfect fit.
I got this idea from Carol Barr who got it from Liebe Grube Isabella.  At least I think that is her name.  I went to her blog and it is in German, I believe, so I'm not sure if I got the name right or not.  But thank you to her for this cute idea.

Here is a side view of the holder:

WARMER WEDNESDAY

The rain is ending and warmer weather is here for quite a few days.  I'm ready.  When you have a warm day you need something to cool off - like an ice cream treat.  Today's card is made with the Cool Treats Stamp Set and matching Framelits found on page 32 and 33 of the Occasions Catalog.  It is one of the sets that will be returning.  Yea!

We made this card at our set sampler day at one of our Proverbial Stampers Team Meetings.  See what fun things you get to do when you are a demonstrator!  You can be part of the fun by contacting me and becoming part of an awesome team.  I would love to have you join us.

The Clearance Rack has been updated and there are more fun items at a good price

MONDAY

Today's card is one I made for a card shower for a sweet lady turning 90 from our church.  I had the heart cut out for something else and decided I needed to use it instead of looking at it all the time.

Other than the Falling in Love DSP, everything else is returning.  I wish I would have done some embossing on the banner piece but it was already down with Tombow so there was no way to change it.
Using the Precision Plate on your Big Shot is very helpful for this very delicate Die.
Colors are Sweet Sugarplum, Soft Sky, Sahara Sand, and Blushing Bride.
I also used Clear Wink of Stella on the numbers and the flowers, but it is hard to see here.
The card design was inspired by Diane Barnes.

FRIDAY

A quick post before I head to bed - it's been a long day!
Today's card uses several retiring items:

Retiring items: both butterfly punches (boo, hoo), the Succulent Garden DSP, and the Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon.  After checking the discontinued list, I see that all of these are still available for you to order.
Returning items:  Triple Banner Punch, White Perfect Accents (center of butterfly)

I did not put a message on the banner strip yet so that I can use it for whatever occasion that might come up.

Come back on Monday when I will give you all the information for the Joyful Heart Stampers June Stamp Fest.  It's always a blast as we celebrate the unveiling of the new Annual Catalog.

Have a great weekend.

WEDNESDAY

For today's post I used that same retiring In the Meadow Stamp Set.  So sorry to see this go!  I created the card for our Proverbial Stampers' April Sketch Challenge.

The Woodgrain Embossing Folder is also retiring.  The Burlap Ribbon and the Stitched Framlelits will remain.  I used Old Olive and Crumb Cake for my colors with a little Pink in the trees.
Don't forget to check out the retiring list.
Click here to see the items that are now discontinued.  You might want to plug the product number in anyway on your order because it seems that they are getting a few things in to fill the supply.  You might as well try and see what pops up on the order.
All stamp sets should be available through May 22, even if now on backorder.  Other supplies are "while supplies last".
Click on the Retiring Products pic on the right side panel to see all retiring products.
