Well, I think I'm back.  New hard drive.  My old hard drive is going to be sent to CA to see if items can be retrieved, so I am starting all over again for now.  UGH!  What a mess!

I am just posting 2 quick pics to get me back in the groove.  Both of these cards were displayed at our Proverbial Stampers Meeting last Thursday.  They both use Brusho.

On the top card the butterfly was heat embossed with gold and then the Brusho colors were added to the butterfly segments.  I am not sure, but I would guess that the Brusho was sprinkled onto something like the Acrylic Mat, the Aqua Painter was dipped into the Brusho and then painted into the sections.  This card uses the Beautiful Day Stamp Set which is a perfect set for this technique.  I am sorry but I do not know who created this card.

The second card was created by Sue Brummer.  I know that because she was the winner of the swap contest.  Brusho was sprinkled on the card after the butterfly was heat embossed. The Brusho was spritzed slightly with water and two of the sections were spread with the Aqua Painter.

Also on this card you will see several Tutti-frutti sequins.  They have adhesive on the back.  Love it!  They are on pg 29 of the Occasions Catalog

Sorry I haven’t posted this week. My computer’s hard drive is being restored (hopefully) and I haven’t figured out yet how to do all the blog stuff on my IPad. I’ll be back soon - maybe even later today.

FUN FOLD FRIDAY

I know it's not February yet, but I wanted to show you a cute little Valentine Treat Holder early enough that you will have time to make some yourself if you want.  I made 40 of these  - some for my sorority and some for the first graders I help with writing one day a week.

Each one holds a single Hershey Kiss and I found a bag of kisses wrapped with white paper.  It was the only one on the shelf and I have never seen white ones before.  I thought they would be perfect for this project.

I am not going to reinvent the wheel to tell you how to make these.  Click here to see the video by Brenda Quintana where she will show you what to do.  So easy, and her directions are great.  I also used the DSP from last year because I had some left over.  For any paper that has a directional pattern, here is a picture of how to place your paper on your Simply Scored so that the pattern will go down the side of the heart correctly.

Long piece is 4 x 1 and is scored at 1", 2", 3".  This piece can actually be cut any way at all because it all gets covered by the small pieces so it doesn't matter what the pattern looks like.

Two small pieces cut at 2 3/8 x 2 scored at 1" and 1 7/8".  Then follow Brenda's directions.

She suggested using Tombow and normally I would agree because I love Tombow Glue, but I used Fast Fuse and it worked great also.  It was easier to use and I didn't get sticky, icky fingers while creating.  Just apply your Fast Fuse close to the scored seams so your heart will retain its shape.

Yesterday I hosted a class in my home to make the Perennial Birthday Kit cards.  The cards are very pretty, the kit is super easy, and the box in which to keep the cards is adorable.

Here is what the cards look like.  I made them exactly as the direction sheet showed.  On the inside of the cards I tried to put as many different birthday messages as I could find in my stash of old stamps.  You end up with four of each of these cards so you have a total of 16 when you are done.

I added "Happy Birthday" to the top of the box using Gold Foil Paper and the Happy Birthday Thinlit.

In case you don't know, the box also comes with monthly dividers so you can separate your cards and also write dates for who has a birthday when.

MONDAY

Remember the Brusho sample with blue and green I showed you on Friday?  This is what I ended up creating with it.

As always, it is prettier in person.  I covered it with Versa Mark and then Iridescent Ice and heat embossed it to give it sparkle.  The Wink of Stella works also, but the color bleeds off onto the Stella brush and you have to wipe it off for future use.  I hate to waste the Wink of Stella by cleaning it off.  For this card I was using some pieces that were cut a long time ago for a stamp camp project.  I think the green might be Gumball, which is a retired In Color.  I used the butterfly (Fluttering) and Softly Falling embossing folders.  The message is from the Seasons of Cheer stamp set.

FRIDAY

I was playing with some Brusho last night - a new product in the Occasions Catalog.  I started out with a different idea using all of the celebration die cuts below, but changed my mind and ended up with this card:

Brusho is just like powder so you want to keep the lids on the containers.  Punch several holes in the lid with your "pokey tool" and you will be ready to go.

You can spritz you watercolor paper with water or you can wet the paper using your Aqua Painter.  I just spritzed mine, because I thought I liked the more speckled image instead of all of the colors running together.  I am going to try that next.  However, colors still run together somewhat, which is perfectly fine! On this card I used red, yellow and green.

Just tap your container over your paper to release the Brusho.  It takes a while for the Brusho to dry, so be patient.  After it is almost dry you can finish it off my using your heat tool.

Here is what the Brusho looks like, some other samples of the celebrate cut-out, and another paper using just the blue and green.  Haven't decided what to do with it yet.
