Another little Easter project before the big day.

Here are a couple samples plus 24 of the 56 I made.

I found the tutorial here on QBee's site.  These are good directions, but I am going to give you a few tips I found helpful after making all of mine.

First here is a picture of the cardstock just so you have an instant visual.  Cardstock is 6 1/2 x 2 1/2.

These lines are the scores lines you make using your Simply Scored.

1 1/2" down one long side; 2, 3, 5 down to that long score line and 6" the whole way down the paper.

Cut down on the short score lines and cut out the small rectangle at the end.

Put Tombow (or I used Fast Fuse - so much faster) on the two small flaps.

Flip your paper over and put adhesive on one large flap.

Using the Basket Weave Embossing Folder (FREE with $100 SAB order), emboss your cardstock.  I found it very easy to open up the folder and lay the paper in as the picture shows.  Your 6" score line goes right at the edge of the folder and your long 1 1/2" score line should be placed just where the basket weave begins, which is slightly above the edge of the folder.  If you hold it down with one hand you can simply close the folder with the paper in and run it through the Big Shot.

On the video she embossed the handle with the Cable Knit Emb Folder.  Since I made 56 of these, I decided to just make mine plain.  I was tired of embossing!  Her handle was also 6 x 1/2.  I made mine 5 1/2 x 1/2.

This is a post I found in my drafts from 2015.  I guess it never got published so I will republish today.

It is a cute little Easter candy treat.   I found the idea on Pinterest, posted by Margaret.  You can see her post and another link to a tutorial here.

Here is mine and the steps I followed:

 

   

Cut your piece of cardstock 7 1/2" x 2".  Score at 4 1/4 and 5 3/4 from one end.  (The space between the scores should be 1 1/2" so if you are making a smaller holder find the center and score 3/4" from both sides of the middle).

Punch both ends using the Scallop Tag Topper Punch.

Decorate the bottom as you like.  I used the little eggs, colored with Stampin' Write Markers, from the For Peeps Sake Stamp Set found in the Occasions Catalog.

To make the box on the inside that will hold your candy you need a piece of matching cardstock measuring 2 1/2" x 3".

Score at 1/4" and 1/2" on all 4 sides.  Reinforce all scores.  Cut out all 4 corners.

I punched a hole using my Modern Label Punch in the center of this piece because of the shape of my candy.  You can use whatever punch you need to match the candy of your choice.

Fold in on all score line and glue together to make the box.  I have included a picture of how the box looks on the bottom and the right side.

Using Tombow Glue, glue the box to the inside of your holder, with your punched shape that holds your candy on the top.

You will need to punch a hole in the front of your holder.  There is no specific place to do this.  You just need to close your holder with your candy inside and see where your best peep-hole would be.  I used the 1 3/8" Circle Punch.

Then I punched out a Scallop Circle to place around the hole on the outside.  To do this, you punch out a circle first and then center your scallop circle punch around the circle hole and punch so you have the scallop edge punched evenly all around.

Place your candy inside, close it up and put a piece of ribbon through the top holes to keep it closed.  I used the Modern Label punched out piece as an embellishment at the top of the treat holder and stamped Happy Easter on it using Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Some of the items used to create this project are now retired, but I know I still have tons of retired items.  Maybe you do too.

MONDAY

Getting ready for Easter.  You have probably seen these on Pinterest.  I wanted to make a few and they were not hard.  These are for my grandkids and my neighbor kids.

I was having a little trouble getting my faces to be consistent so I made a little template for the eyes and mouth.  I used the largest circle on the Owl Punch, figured out where I wanted them and then glued them onto a strip of paper to be in the right position.  I then traced around the edges of the circles to make the eyes and mouth on each cup.  I added a little line to connect the mouth to the heart nose.

All of the circles and the heart are from the Owl Punch.  The ears and feet are made using the Medium and Small Oval Punches now retired, but you know you just can't get rid of those punches!

Each cup is filled with Peanut and Regular M & M's.

FUN FOLD FRIDAY

Today's fold is VERY easy - just a little different take on a regular card.  This was a stamp camp card this month.  However, due to the snow stamp camp had to be cancelled the second day.  Hope to get a make-up day this coming week.

The easiest way to do this card is to score at 5 1/2, which you would ordinarily do and then cut 1 1/2" off of one side.  That way you don't have to refigure where you are going to score your card.  The rest is simple.  

Supplies:

Old Olive 2 7/8 x 2 5/8

Whisper White (embossed with Gently Falling Emb Folder) 2 5/8 x 2 3/8

WEDNESDAY

Well, before I post a card picture, I will post a picture of what we are looking at at my house on the first day of spring and the day after:

We have 10" so far and it is to continue to snow until this evening.  Welcome spring!

But now for an Easter card, which is what we should really be thinking about at this time of year.

The card uses the Blossoming Basket Bundle SAB set FREE for $100.  It includes the stamp set and the Basket Weave Embossing Folder.  The folder will also be available in the new 2018-19 catalog. For this card I used Stampin' Blends and also some Soft Sky ribbon.  

Here is the one we made at the stamp fest on Saturday using Whisper White Organza Ribbon from the Occasions Catalog and the message from the basket set.

MONDAY

Here is a card using some of the Bubble Wrap I created last week using Brusho.

I cut out the butterfly using the framelit and then stamped some other dots on the paper using the Playful Backgrounds Stamp Set.  The card stock is Tranquil Tide and the ribbon is Lemon Lime Twist.

Hi all,

Sorry I missed Wednesday.  I have been under the weather since Tuesday and am drained.  

Today's post was inspired by a little treat holder that was given to us at our stamp fest last Saturday.  It is a mini milk carton and can hold a Lindor Chocolate or other round candy.  I actually put two kisses with green foil in mine for Saint Patty's Day. Mine will have to be given after St Patty's Day since I didn't go anywhere last week to hand them out.

Here is a picture of how to cut and fold.  You need a piece of 3 x 6 DSP.

Score at 1 3/8, 2 3/4, 4 1/8, 5 1/2 along the long side.  Then score at 1" on the short side.

Cut where shown with the black lines.  Adhere with Tombow, Fast Fuse or Sticky Strip.
