TECHNIQUE TUESDAY

First of all, don't forget that today the  Retired List comes out.  Click on the SHOP NOW button on the right panel of the blog to order, using the Hostess Code 74Z6X42P.  Have fun shopping and getting some great deals!  When I am able, I will put the link here to get to the Retiring List.

Today I am going to show you a quick and easy gift card holder.

I am going to use the directions from an older post on my other blog to show you directions so the colors will not be the same as this sample.  Here I used Pistachio Pudding Cardstock and String, Gold Soiree DSP, and the words from the Simply Wonderful Sale-a-bration Stamp Set.

  • First cut a piece of cardstock measuring 4 1/4 x 11.
  • Score at 3, 5 1/2, and 8, with the mountain fold being in the middle.

  • Put a piece of Sticky Strip along the inside edge as shown.
  • Pull off the red layer and adhere the inside section together.

It should look like this.  This is when I added my stamped edges to the inside of the holder, which I will show at the end.

Line the edge of the Word Window Punch up with the right edge of the folded inside section of your cardstock and punch.  Do the same on the left side.

Punch part of your 1/2" Circle Punch in the center of the Word Window punched holes.  This will give you a place to slide your gift card into and the circle punched space lets you pull the gift card out without any trouble.

This is the inside of the holder I made as my post today.

I decorated the front with a punched out piece that was popped up with Dimensionals so that I could slide a piece of string through it and around the holder.  I tied it with a bow to keep it closed.

Have fun making a designing one of your own.
