WEDNESDAY WHOOPEE!

Today I am sharing 4 graduation cards for 4 young people in my church.  All 4 children graduated and their parents had a "It Takes a Village" party to celebrate their successes.

This card is for the son who graduated from the University of Florida.  Their colors are blue and orange.  The numbers are not Stampin' Up.  There is Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper behind the message, on the smallest star, and the numbers.  It is hard to see that in the picture.

This card is for the son who graduated from Chick Fil-A managerial school.  I love these little Enamel Shape Dots!  They will be back again in the new catalog.

This one is for their only daughter who graduated from high school.  The school colors are blue and white, but one year the graduating class takes on the colors of blue and white and on the alternate year, it is red and white.  I wasn't sure which one she was, so the card is red, white, and blue.

The last card is for the son who graduated from Liberty University.  Their colors are red, white and blue.

Congratulations to all those young and old who are graduating and on to bigger and better things.

MONDAY, MAY 29

It is Memorial Day and, as we celebrate or go to a big sale, let us remember the reason for this day.  There are so many who have given the ultimate sacrifice for us and our country.  And there are so many more who have given some of their minds and their bodies in the battles to keep us free.  To all of those men and women we owe a big THANK YOU.  Today's card is an old post, but it is representative of the significance of this day.

We have not and will not forget you!

FUN FOLD FRIDAY

I so wanted to share the 4 graduation cards I made yesterday, but forgot to take pictures.  Maybe I can get the recipients to send me pics.  Stay tuned.  So. . . instead . . .

I am totally stealing someone's project today for my post.  I want to try one of these, but haven't had time this week.  This is a card that a friend of mine tried after she saw this card and video.  So cute.

This card was created by Karen Howell and the directions are HERE on Pinterest.  Can't wait to try one of my own.  So many possibilities!

WEDNESDAY, MAY 24

Sorry I missed Monday.  I had a root canal Monday morning.  And, although it went very well, I came home and crashed.  Did nothing all day except nap and watch t.v.  That hardly EVER happens, so I guess I needed the rest.

Today's card is saved from my friend and fellow demonstrator, Sondra Jumper.  I just loved it, so I wanted you all to see it.

What a great card to give to your favorite "sportster" at the end of the school year - or maybe save it until the end of summer baseball season.

This card uses the Custom Tees Stamp Set from the Occasions Catalog, #142916, and is on sale for $19.50.  The T-shirt builder Framelits, #142754, are also on sale for $15.  Get them ordered before they are gone.  There are also some other fun options in the set, for boys or girls.  As of yesterday, Stampin' Up is no longer making stamp sets that are retiring, so if you like this one, order ASAP.
Thanks, Sondra!

FUN FOLD FRIDAY

Today I am going to share a cute little kitty cat treat.  I made these for the first graders who I help with kid writing one day a week.  I love getting back in the classroom without the responsibilities! Tuesday was my last day with them for the year so I brought something to remember me by.
Here is a pic of all 25 and then I will give you easy, detailed directions.

The note on the base says, "Have a "purr" fect summer.

These were inspired and taken from the KT Hom Designs blog.

Directions:
2 x 7 1/2 sheet of Tip Taupe card stock
Punch each end with the Triple Banner Punch to create the ears.
With long edge along the top of your Simply Scored Tool, score at 3" and 4".
Run a strip of Fast Fuse between the two score lines and place your Rolos or Hershey Kisses on the Fast Fuse.
Put a Mini Glue Dot on the inside of each ear and bring the two ear ends up together to meet.  This will close your kitty cat.

The eyes and noses are created with the 1/2" Circle Punch.  I put a white dot on each eye using the White Gel Pen (no longer sold) and black dots on the nose with a thin black Sharpie.
I punched a heart nose out of the pink Sale-a-bration Glimmer Paper using an old mini heart punch.
Linen Thread was used for the whiskers.

These were really so simple; so if you know a cat lover, try one yourself.

WEDNESDAY

Today's post is a card I saw on Pinterest.  It was created by Heidi Baks.  It uses the Botanical Blooms Stamp Set and Botanical Builder Framelits, which are retiring.  This is such a fun set.  If you don't have it, you might want to put it on your list.

I love this card and wanted to share it with you.  Thanks, Heidi!  It is beautiful.

Reminder that today is the last day for early bird registration for our New Catalog Stamp Fest on June 3 from 1-4 pm.  Early bird pays $30, after that it is $40.  7 fun projects, demonstrations, snack, door prizes, new catalog for those attending, and one larger prize of new catalog products.  Bring your own adhesive and a snack for an extra door prize ticket.  Bring a friend to enjoy the fun with you.  If you would like to attend and get in on the early bird registration, contact me and you can pay through PayPal.  It's a ton of fun!

MONDAY

I should have posted this card on Friday to wish all those mothers and those who are like mothers to all of us, a Happy Mother's Day.  I hope you were able to spend time with loved ones and remember those mothers who meant so much to us in our lives but are no longer with us.  I also think of those women who never got to be mothers due to an infant's death, or those mothers who have lost a child.  This is an especially hard holiday for those.  Prayers for all of them.

This card uses the Big on Birthdays Stamp Set from the Occasions Catalog for the flower image and the letters from the Brushwork Alphabet for the message, found in the annual Catalog.
It also uses a strip of paper from the Succulent Garden DSP, Sugarplum card stock, and ribbon.
Both of these stamp sets will actually be returning in the new catalog.

FUN FOLD FRIDAY

The last stamp camp card this week uses a different fun fold called a Corner Pop-Up Fold.

I saw this card fold on Pinterest posted by Dawn Griffith.  I won't re-invent the wheel by showing you how to do it.  Here is the link to watch her video.  The only thing I would change/suggest from her video is that you cut your slit before you try to crease your corner fold.  It is a little easier if you do that first.  This card is really quite easy and I love how it stands up for display.  You can do a lot more on the inside of the card if you want - there are so many possibilities.  Thanks, Dawn!  I saw one on Pinterest also that made the one section of the bottom flap open so that you could slide a gift card or coupon in it.  Great idea!

Products used:
Circle of Spring Stamp Set (R)
Wonderful Wreath Framelits (R)
(The Wondrous Wreath Stamp Set that goes with these Framelits is also Retiring)
Mint Macaron CS and Marker (R)
Tip Top Taupe CS and Marker (R)

2 1/2" Circle Punch (Old)
Message (Old)
Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set (NR)
Calypso Coral Ink and Marker (NR)

I hope you will try one of these cards.  Easy and fun to do.  Have a great weekend and a Happy Mother's Day if you are celebrating with your mom or your children.
