Welcome back!

I have been absent the last several days just because of all the Christmas frivolity and taking the time to spend time with family.  I hope your holidays were as joyous as mine and that, through all the bustle, you found time to celebrate the birth of our Lord who gives us grace each and every day.  Blessed be this wonderful gift!

I was playing with some new items for a Joyful Heart Stampers card swap using new items.  This first card uses the new stamp set called Golden Afternoon.

Sorry for the quality.  I remembered that I had not taken a picture of my swaps as I was headed into the Post Office to mail them so I quickly pulled them out and took a few shots.  This card is so pretty in person.

The Coastal Cabana birds and message are also heat embossed.  Just ink your stamp in Versa Mark first, then ink directly onto your Coastal Cabana Pad, dump Clear Embossing Powder on, tap off and heat.  Literally you can make ANY color of embossing by doing this.

Here are a few more Christmas cards using the Dashing Deer Bundle and some left over Nov Paper Pumpkin items.

Also happy first day of winter yesterday.  The one thing I like about that is that the sun starts to set a LITTLE bit later each day.  Bring on spring.

WEDNESDAY

Twelve Days of Christmas is over and the big day is just around the corner.

The next couple of days I will post some last minute cards I made when I realized I needed a few more.

For this card I used a few items left over from the wonderful November Paper Pumpkin.  That is something you can almost always count on with Paper Pumpkin - you always have a few items left over that you can add to the proposed project or use for something you create yourself.

The vellum circle and the white ferns (flipped over from the real Garden Green side) are from the Paper Pumpkin kit.

Then I used a piece of paper from Dashing along DSP for the background, Circle Framelits to create the border around the Vellum, the Sprig Punch to create some "greenery" in the pot that was stamped on Galvanized Metal Paper with the image from the Country Home Stamp Set.  I am so glad this set is staying.  I love it!  The Galvanized paper, however, is not, so get yours from the End of the Year Sale before it is gone.

The bow uses ribbon from the Tea Ribbon Combo Pack from the AC (pg 201).

TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS - DAY 12

Out last project before Christmas is a card/gift card holder.  I saw a remake of this card from someone who didn't know where the original came from.  So I really made up my own directions.

This is the front when it is all finished.

Start with two sections.  The first section is just a card base cut at 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 with a layer of DSP cut at 5 1/4 x 4.  Here I used a piece from Dashing Along.

The second piece of cardstock is cut at 4 1/4 x 11.

With the long side at the top of your Simply Scored, score at 3 5/8".  Then I flipped my cardstock around and did the same thing from the other end.  I did this because 11 is hard to divide 3 ways.  This is very close to having all pieces even and is very easy to do.

Mountain fold one score and valley fold the other.

Then I just decorated the pieces.  The white piece for the inside and for the front are cut at 3 1/4 x 4.

The front piece is embossed with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder.

The inside is stamped with images from the Dashing Deer stamp set.

The center DSP piece is cut at 3 1/2 x 2 3/8.  I used Fast Fuse along the two sides and the bottom to hold in securely in the card.  Make sure you do not adhere the top because that is where you gift card will slide in.

The front is stamped with Soft Suede using the deer image in Dashing Deer.  I used one of my leaf fronds and Cherry Cobbler linen thread  left over from Paper Pumpkin as embellishments.  The message is in Garden Green and also from Dashing Deer.  The deer and the message are popped up with Dimensionals.

TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS - DAY 11

Going to a party and need to take a bottle of wine, or giving someone a bottle of wine as a Christmas gift?  Here is a quick, easy way to decorate your gift.  This is my husband's homemade Strawberry Wine.

 Not sure why this turned out so blurry.  My picture looked great, but I took a couple and when I loaded them here, they seemed to not be so clear.

This easy topper can be decorated in any way you want.  The possibilities are endless.  There are also quite a few ideas on Pinterest.

The basic directions are as follows.  I haven't included any step by step pictures since it is pretty straight forward.

Cut your cardstock at 2 3/4" x 8 1/4".  Score at 2 3/8" on one end.

I used one of the Dies from the Delicate Lace Edgelits (pg 217 AC) for the bottom of my project, but you can change that up in many ways if you do not have that set of Edgelits.

Cut two pieces of DSP (here it is Dashing Along) 1/4" smaller than your cardstock on all four sides.  You need a piece for the top and a piece for the section that hangs down.  Adhere to your cardstock (here I used Cherry Cobbler) with Tombow Glue.

Use one of your smaller circle framelits to cut a hole in the center of the small top section.

Cut that same size circle and the next larger one out of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and adhere with Tombow around the hole you have created.

For my images on the front I used the Half  Full Stamp Set (pg 22 AC), stamped with Momento and colored with Blender Pens.  I also put a little Wink of Stella on top of the coloring.

I used the Pretty Label Punch for all the images and also used two of them in Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper for the back of the wine glass image.

To finish off the project I used Silver Edged Ribbon because it has some bling and I love it.  I didn't even realize it was retired, but it is.  Sure hope you already have some.

TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS - DAY 10

This simple gift can hold lots of different things.  Fill it with a small gift, hand stamped cards, cosmetics, candy, or anything you think would be appreciated for a special someone.

This Distressed Tin is now on sale in the End of the Year Sale.  I hated to cover up a lot of the tin because it is so pretty the way it is.  So I decided to use just a little Dashing Along DSP and a few embellishments.

 I cut two strips at 2 3/8 x 12.  I used Tombow Glue and wrapped them around the tin, overlapping at the ends.  I did cut a little off the end of the second piece so it wasn't quite so long. 

Then I cut two pieces at 3/4 x 12 and added that in the middle, also using Tombow. 

The die shape in the middle is cut from Champagne Foil Paper and uses the die from the special Blended Seasons Bundle that was available earlier in the year.

The Deer and the Champagne Foil swirl are from the Dashing Deer Bundle  pg 9 of the HC.  This Bundle is part of the close-out items.  You can see all the sale and close out items at https://www.stampinup.com/ecweb/products/10092/discounted-products

I used the Spring Punch in Garden Green for the leaves and I went over them with the Wink of Stella.

The black beads for the eye and the middle of the flower are from the Faceted Dots pg 197 in the AC  #146910.

TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS - DAY 9

Today's Santa project is another easy one.

To make this you will need the Takeout Thinlit Die found on pg 50 of the Occasions Catalog 

 Just put your box together and fill it with some goodies. 

 To make the white beard, punch out a Pretty Label using your punch and cut it in half.

For your black belt, cut a black strip measuring 1/2" x 1 3/4".  After you glue it on you will need to trim the edges to match the slight slant of the box.

To make the buckle, cut a 3/4" square out of Silver Glimmer Paper. (If you still have an old 3/4" square punch, you can use that.)

Then cut a 1/2" black square for the center of the silver buckle.

Easy, peasy and so cute.

TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS - DAY 8

Today's project is SO easy.  These were treats at our Proverbial Stampers Team meeting, thanks to Connie Heisey.

Just order the Clear Tiny Treat Boxes from the AC #141699

.  You get 16 boxes for $7.50!

Fold the box.

Cut a strip of DSP 1" x 9" (here we used Under the Mistletoe pg 189 AC)

Score and crease every 2".  Then slip into your box with a little adhesive on one end to hold it together securely.

Fill the box with a small gift or your favorite holiday candy.

Tie it shut using Shaded Spruce Ribbon from the Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack (pg 201 in the AC).

Make a little tag of your choice for the top.

TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS - DAY 7

Today' project is another simple little Ghirardelli chocolate holder made like a matchbook.

Start with a piece of card stock cut at 2 1/8 x 5 1/2.  I could have made it a tad longer, but wanted to get the most out of my cardstock so I used 5 1/2.  

Using your Simply Scored, score at 5/8, 3 1/8, 3 3/8.

Fold and crease on score lines.

Cut a piece of DSP at 2 x 1 7/8 and glue to the front of the matchbook.

Lay the end flap of your Ghirardelli square JUST over the 5/8" score line.  I actually put a little Fast Fuse on the flap so it wouldn't move.

Bring your 5/8" flap up and staple through the layers to hold your chocolate square inside.

Tuck your top flap in under the bottom flap to create the matchbook look.

Stamp a Christmas message, punch out with the Classic Label Punch and attach to the flap to cover the staples.  I also attached one of the retired bows as an embellishment.  Now you have the project pictured at the top of the page.

TWELVE DAYS OF - DAY 6 (Sorry, I'm a day behind)

Today's project is an easy Ghirardelli Chocolate square holder using the Envelope Punch Board.

You need to start with a piece of DSP measuring 5 x 5.  I used Under the Mistletoe DSP from the AC.

If you have never used the Envelope Punch Board, follow the directions, which you can find here

After you have your piece scored and punched, round one of the large corners using the corner   rounder at the top of the board.  Your piece should look like this.

Then lay your DSP piece on your paper cutter lining up the two small points on the 2" line.

Cut your DSP now so that you are cutting off most of the large corner.  You should have about 1/2" left down to the fold.

Crease your folds using your Bone Folder, put a little Fast Fuse or Tombow Glue on the outside edges of the large corner that is left (close to the score line), and bring your three edges together to form your envelope.  

Slide your chocolate inside.  I added a Christmas message using Teeny Tiny Wishes and also a little red bow that is retired, but had been on the Clearance Rack.  Love these little bows!

Such an easy project to make and the goodies are good too!  Have fun making some yourself.
