MONDAY MONDAY

I know I said I was going to post birthday ideas this week, but I have already changed my mind.  That's my prerogative as a woman, right?!

I have been working part of this weekend on Valentine treats.  And, of course, I got out My Paper Pumpkin!  What a fun program.  You get everything you need each month sent directly to you in a box with ALL the supplies you need to create the monthly project(s).  January's supplies included all I needed to make 24 Valentine treat holders.  Here is a picture of all the supplies and a picture of the end product.

Aren't they cutest!  Can't wait to give them to my sorority sisters.
Now here is even better news!  During Sale-a-bration, when you join the program and pay for a 3 month pre-paid subscription, you pay $55 instead of $59!  And, of course, that is enough for you to get a FREE SAB product.

You can learn all the details by clicking on the Paper Pumpkin Link on the right side of the blog.  It will take you directly to the site, let you sign up with me as your demonstrator, and start your stamping fun.  There is no obligation after your 3 month subscription.  However, if you love it as much as I do and want to continue, you can sign up for a 1 month, another 3 month, or a 12 month subscription, each multiple month subscription saving you a little money.

I LOVE getting this fun, surprise box in the mail each month.  If you have any questions after you visit the Paper Pumpkin website, please let me know.

I'm off to finish some more treat holders.

FRIDAY

Just a quick post today of one of the cards we made at our team meeting last Saturday.  I'm in love with another set.

When I saw this set, I thought - cute - maybe later.  But now it is on my short list to order!  I love this little ice cream with the chocolate on top. This card uses the Cool Treats Bundle found on pages 32 and 33 of the Occasions Catalog.  So that means you don't have to cut out any of these little pieces by hand - just run the pieces through your Big Shot and voila!  The other "cool" thing about this card is that it uses the Lace Doilies on pg 51 and they are reversible - white on one side and vanilla on the other - such a great idea! The background uses the stripe stencil.

Here are 2 other cards using the same set.

Come back next week - I am going to showcase some birthday card ideas.  Have a great weekend..

WATERCOLOR WEDNESDAY

Today I would like to highlight the new Watercolor Pencils.  They have been so popular that they are already on backorder, but you will be able to re-order in February when the supply is refilled.

Here is a you tube video by Shannon West that will give you a few tips about these great pencils. So glad Stampin' Up has brought them back and they are now in our own Stampin' Up colors.

I have just put my pencils in one of our clear mount cases for storage.  There is enough room for an Aqua Painter and a Blender Pen, both of which are great tools to use with these pencils.

Cut the box apart that your pencils come in and adhere it to a piece of cardstock that will slide into the plastic sleeve on the outside of your case.  You can also make a smudge of what each color looks like and place in the sleeve on the inside to showcase the actual colors.  I still need to do this.
Here is a card used for a demonstration to show how you can make a color pallet on a piece of cardstock and then dip your Aqua Painter into it to color your image.

And my favorite new set - Beautiful You - is showcased here with watercolor pencil coloring.

Neither of the swappers that made these cards put their names on them so I cannot give credit. - sorry!
What do you want to do with your new pencils?  The sky is the limit.

MORE MONDAY WINDOW BOX IDEAS

I am in  love with the Window Box Thinlit so I have a few more things to share.  These are three cards I made for my stamping demonstration this past Saturday to show you that you don't have to use the thinlits to JUST make boxes.

For the card on the top left, you place your square cut-out candle die on the card and run through the Big Shot to get your image.  Then layer cardstock (or DSP) behind the cut out image.  I used the scallop piece cut out as the candle holder.  I also used Wink of Stella on the flames.

For the pastel card, cut-out your large hexagon image on the top layer of the card.  Then sponge on whatever colors you would like to show through on the card base.  Adhere together and embellish.

For the butterfly card, cut out your hexagon shape on black card stock, then cut that piece out with a circle image (here I used the new Stitched Circle Framelits).

The next several posts, I will show you some great cards we made at our meeting and also some swaps I received to give you lots of ideas.

FRIENDLY FRIDAY

Today' post shows you another way you can use the new Window Box Thinlit.  I made half the box which turns into a basket.  Here are three different versions.

You can make the basket without a handle like the little Valentine basket or you can make a basket and wrap the handle the long or short way. The Valentine basket is actually not really correct.  It was my first attempt and shows you what happens when you cut the diagonal from point to point instead of exactly in half.  However, you get the idea.
Follow the link from yesterday to cut your die in half and then adhere together. You will only be making one die.
Fill them with a favorite treat.
What can you come up with?

Come back Monday and see some ideas of how you can use the die for just cards.
Have a great weekend.

MORE WINDOW BOX WEDNESDAY

Today's post shows you another way you can use your Window Box thinlit by making a hinged box that opens up like a Pac Man.

The first one is a little red one that you might use for a Valentine treat or gift.  It is closed with a little button and some twine.

I put the little heart square cut-out on each side, but not the bottom.  If you want to make sure all the hearts are facing the right direction be very attentive to how you place them when cutting them out.  As you can see the one on the front of the box is upside down, but it is going to stay that way.

The second box has just the front cut out and Floral Boutique DSP on the sides. I put a bow on the front to help hold it closed.  Inside I made four little gift cards using the square cutouts ad DSP.

The envelopes for the cards are made with the Envelope Punch Board.  I started with a piece that was 4 x 4 and scored at 1 7/8.  Then I cut white card stock at 4 x 2 1/4, folded in half, cut out the image, and popped into the envelope.
Click here to go to the Work of Carte Blog to see how the blogger (sorry, I can't find her name) cut the die to get the two pieces for the hinged box.  Just a tip that when you cut the hexagon in half as directed on the blog, make sure you are cutting in half and not just from the point to the point.

Here is a picture of the cards inside:

Come back on Friday to see some samples of the "half box" or basket.

MONDAY, MONDAY

Almost forgot my post - busy morning!

This week I will be sharing some ideas for the new Window Box Thinlet that is in the Occasions Catalog.  Love this new little box!

The first picture shows you a box I made and all the pieces you get in the framelit set.

This box was made with Watermelon Wonder Card Stock and the Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper.  Here is a larger picture of the box, which I think turned out pretty dandy.

To view how to put this box together, click here to see a Stampin' Up video.  The video will also show you how to make the banner.
You are able to get this box out of one piece of 8 1/2 x 11 card stock, which is great.  You will also have room for the banner if you decide to make that.
To make the inserted pieces (here the Glimmer Paper), trace the square or hexagon onto the desired paper, cut out by hand, and adhere to the inside with a little Tombow in strategic places.
Fill this with a special gift or treat for a special friend or loved one.
This framelit comes as a bundle with a matching Stamp Set and you can save 10%.  I did not get the stamp set right now, but it will be on my next order when I can use some of my FREE hostess benefits to pay for it.  Both can be found on pg 43 of the Occasions Catalog.
If you purchase the Bundle right now you will reach your $50 total needed to receive one FREE SAB set.  Sounds like a great idea!

Come back on Wednesday and see a sample of a hinged box using the same die.  You're going to love it!
