TECHNIQUE TUESDAY

Here is a treat I am making for the teachers next week for Teacher Appreciation Week.  This is for a school where I volunteer.  I saw the idea on Pinterest and changed it up a little and figured out the directions for the size I wanted.

The supplies you need are:

  • Daffodil Delight & Strawberry Slush Card Stock (or a similar pinkish color)
  • Rolos and Hershey Kisses
  • Gold Foil Sheet
  • Mini Glue Dots
  • Pop Up Glue Dots (non Stampin' Up)
  • Fast Fuse or Sticky Strip
  • 1" Circle Punch (not shown)

I cut my card stock at 3 1/4" x 2 5/8". You can make this any length you want to suit your project.  If you use a roll of Rolos you will need it to be longer than 2 5/8".

I scored at 1/4" and then every 3/8" until I was at the end of the paper.

Put your Rolos together with a couple of Mini Glue Dots along the edges.  Put your Hershey Kiss on the Rolos with a Pop Up Glue Dot.  You can also use a roll of Rolos, which would be easier, but it was more expensive, which is why I chose the single candies.

Curl your card stock with a bone folder and then add a couple strips of Fast Fuse or Sticky Strip on the card stock to help hold your candies together and make it easier to roll.

Roll up your candies and put a little Tombow Glue on your smallest end score piece to adhere together after rolling.

Adhere your 1" pink circle to the top of the Rolos with several Mini Glue Dots.
Curl your pink and gold strips with a bone folder and put Fast Fuse on the inside.  Wrap around the top of the pencil.  The pink piece measures 3 1/4" x 5/8" and the gold piece is 3 1/4" x 3/8".

Here is a close up of the treat.  I loved how they turned out.  Once I got going they were very easy to put together.  I will be delivering all 20 next week.
